it's not literally, because sight is light hitting your eyeballs, but it feels to him like he's seeing from above, and in his memories it's very often from above, even if logically that's not how things happened

It's been a long time since I've looked at it though

from my own personal repeated experiences with OoB stuff, my conclusion is that it's strong depersonalization (a form of dissociation) and oftentimes, hypnagogia/hypnapomia/dreaming/sleep paralysis

It was one of the things on my ultra secure server lol

This may sound off with what I said earlier given how I believe in AP and was trying to get working counter-explanations for my experiences with mindscape hopping and cross-mindscape interaction, but I don't believe we create realities with our dreams. man, once this guy told me to try to do that, and I asked for instructions and I did it as instructed and he said he'd show up and I told him if I met him I'd be yelling a sentence (which I told other people beforehand as witnesses) and so if he could tell me it back we'd know it worked

Ah. I can oddly explain the lack of evidence from your experience metaphysically in more ways than people can explain my evidence scientifically. Simply put, for one, the person might've had a hard time connecting due to doubt or stress or belief. I know from experience that it can sometimes take extra effort or multiple attempts to reliably interact with someone metaphysically who has less familiarity, and just trying again can make further metaphysically performed actions easier or more reliable.

 I can oddly explain the lack of evidence from your experience metaphysically in more ways than people can explain my evidence scientifically.
